Well i don't use tripod all the time when shooting macro. Practice is the key

Why exactly would we need a tripod? And best results are quite subjective. What are you trying to take a picture of? If you want camera motion blur in it, then a tripod is doing the opposite of what you want.



5 shots, handheld, focus stacked in PS, toned in Oloneo.
If you had of used a tripod and focus rail you might not have had missing bits of focus in that though. Handheld stacks rarely hold up to close inspection.....mines would be no better
