What will you grow to become?

Camera: Canon EOS 450D
Exposure: 0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 49 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: On, Fired

How could I improve this shot?

I'm a noob too so I don't think I can be of much help, however, in my opinion there is a bit too much going on. I don't know what to focus on ; flowers on the right of flower on the left?

I would've preferred that you focused on the flower on the right, or better still, focused on the one on the left with a more frontal view up real close.

Then again I'm a noob.
I still like the shot though

Keep taking pictures

I see what your trying for here. I would shoot the small buds and the open bloom separately and them composite them in post-processing software like Photoshop or GIMP. Rotate the open bloom so that it faces the buds, then reduce the transparency of the open bloom layer so that it becomes a "suggestion" of what the buds might become.
