Question hand and water

I took this photo of a little girls hand splashing in the bathtub. I wanted to know if I caught the water well enough (any tips on this would be helpful this is my first go on shooting water). Any comments on lighting, color or B&W, composition etc. would be helpful. Also did I use the rule of thirds right on this because I am new to that concept. Thanks in advance.

ask yourself are the major points in this photo falling on the rule of thirds guidelines. Place a tic tac toe grid over your image and see how they line up.

It could be a really cool shot if that hand was in focus.

Could you tell me how to get that hand in focus. I too the photo while she was moving it up and down rapidly splashing the water. Her hand is also wet.

I think that your concept here could make a really good photo but I would look at this photo as your "first draft". A faster shutter speed a flash will help you freeze the action. I like the idea of black and white for this shot, too but you need a stronger B&W converstion. There are many articles on DPS about converting to black and white that will help you find the best method for your image editing software.
