Default Critique for an attempted macro

Hi,
I tried to take a macro shot using my Canon EOS 1000D. Here is the photograph. I would request comments/critique on the shot.

Could you post some more EXIF data. I'm not sure that there is enough info there for us to make an informed critique

Nice shoe. Nice color. Nice focus. I dont consider this to be a macro; it is more of a closeup capture. Others might say otherwise.

I just picked up the EXIF data information from the flickr page. Not sure if I could have eliminated the irrelevant ones

I agree. It's not a real macro....more of a closeup, the best that I could get from my SLR's kit lens.

I think the subject is too big for macro... choose something tiny and make it look huge..
