My (private) macro place is surrounded by huge trees. The main advantage is that there is absolutely no wind. But the disadvantage is that I have to deal with insufficient light.
I'm convinced that most of my macro shots are too dark and that I need to find a new place. I guess I want my theory confirmed so my question is, are my pics too dark? Or should I flash those sweet bugs (which I do not want to do, 'cause I do not want to interfere) ![]() Anyway thanks for watching (and commenting)! Yeah, it's not my best picture. The (lack of) lightning is bothering me a lot. Too many blurry pictures.

perhaps you're missing those little highlights we usually see, little glints off the shining carapace etc. Like the lights in peoples eyes, they can make all the difference.
I like the shot however, the critter even seems to be looking at you. Last edited by ollie; 12-19-2009 at 05:44 AM. Reason: typo |
