Default fly

I'm sorry, but I don't know the english name of this bug. The translated dutch name is not so nice

D80 - f9 - 1/40 - 150mm

It's actually an old pic. Yesterday I read this tutorial on High Pass sharpening and decided to give it a try. So what do you all think, is it sharp enough?

Any other remarks are also more than welcome!

thanks for watching!

Absolutely remarkable. I am not too qualified to critique emphatically, but I love the shot, it's sharpness and it's composition. Thank you for this. PAUL

I am a huge fan of sharpening images that way. As far as critiquing your photo, I cant, because it looks perfect to me!

Yeah, I'm convinced that high pass sharpening has a lot of potential, especially for macro shots. It seems to limit the amount of additional sharpening noise. So, I'm going to experiment more, but I'm quite certain I will use it a lot in the future.

Thank you for the nice comment! It's far from perfect imo, but learning new things and improving ourselves is what makes this fun, right!?

All the best!

Default You bug me out man!

Wow, makes me realise how pathetic my close-ups are. I'd love to have the details of set-up, settings, etc needed for this shot

I have already posted the (full) exif. Is there anything else you'd like to know?
Tripod is essential of course. Those bugs (we call them sh*t flies) are very willing models. They sit still no matter what - you can practically touch them.

Where did you find/read the tutorial? Here on DPS, or somewhere else? I'd love to know more!
