Smile Light of hope

Hello to everyone This is my first post here and I'm quite enthusiastic. My name is Eve, I'm 15 years old and I'm a beginner in photography. My camera is still point and shoot. It's Canon PowerShot A1100 IS. Actually I got it today This is one of my frist pictures with the new one. I don't mind if you hate it, it will be nice if you could give me some tips so I can improve my skills.

I don't consider myself particularly knowledgable about photography, but I noticed a few things you could try:

If you have manual control over ISO settings, a lower ISO (80-200) will reduce the amount of noise, especially in the darker areas.

As far as I can tell, the A1100 doesn't give you control over shutter or aperture, so maybe someone else could offer advice in clarifying the flame in the shot.

I like the way the flame is surrounded by a glow, but it's possible that a lower ISO would reduce that effect. You may get something similar with a black background close behind the flame, if you don't have that already.

I like the gradient in the background from above the candle to below it.

Overall, it's a nice picture. I hope you can get something out of my comments!
