Default how the west was won

In this shot I was trying to create a hot Western scene but ended up with this shot of barbed wire with some sun flare. I like the sun flare but I want to know if it is overpowering the image of the barbed wire. Also, should I have cropped less and allowed for more wire to show?

EXIF:
sony dsc-h50
shutter: 1/200
f/ 6.3
focal length: 5.2mm
ISO 80
no flash

do not trespass

One thing I notice in this shot is that the DOF has the left 50% of the wire out of focus. I would like to see the wire "knot" on the left side in sharp focus. I don't mind the sun flare. In fact, I think it helps show the "heat" of the scene as it seems to burn through the wire.

hmmmm

To be honest, this is probably the best and my favorite picture taken with a compact P&S.

So there is not much I can say to critique
