Red face what do you call this?

i have studied this thing as an example of a plant that uses wind pollination. i clicked it from a natural bird sanctuary with lots of mangroves.
camera: canon powershot s2
exposure: 1/8 sec
aperture: f/3.5

how is the composition?

I like the contrast of the green and brown but the main subject is right in the middle of the frame which is generally bad. I would crop it to put the seed more to the left of the photo, or maybe crop it so that the ends of the feathery part of the seed where slighlty going out of the frame. Just my opinion though. I do dig the bokeh though.

I agree with Scott's crop suggestions. I especially favor the first suggestion (crop out some of the left and bottom) to end up with the seed on the lower left intersection of the rule-of-thirds lines.
