Default Go Green! your expert opinions please!

Hi,

I'm not sure if I've got this in the correct thread- the pencils are larger than real life though, so I guess that means it's macro?

Please can you critique the photo- do you like it? First impressions? What can be done to improve it? Are the photos right? I'm a beginner- and keen to learn!

The title of the assignment is Go Green- i've looked at some of the other entries and they're all of plants, so I wanted to go for something a bit different- is going off track a good/bad idea in your experience?

many thanks in advance

I like it! Like the title, like the order of the color and the crispness.
The only thing I would have changed is the background, I would have gone with something green instead of the red, or possibly black for more impact.

Good Job!!

Point out the green pencil definitely highlights going green, good theme! The background texture is a bit annoying, I would have loved to keep it flat and a contrasting color to further enhance my subject, but not green as it will dilute the impact of the raised green pencil.

I don't think it's a macro using that lens without an extension tube.
I think you are just zooming.

Nice pic though. Really sharp. (forgive the pun lol)...
