Smile Lazy Sunday Guitar

I took this photograph of a friend playing around on his guitar on a very lazy Sunday afternoon. What do you think of the layout/ composition, colours and focus? Will appreciate any comments! I cropped it a bit, but that's it.

Accidently lost the EXIF data when I saved the image, but will post it later.

The white balance that has shifted toward pink bothers me a little. I very much like the concept of the composition, but somehow I want a more extended depth of field so we get more of a sense of the length of the guitar neck and avoid the huge area of blurriness in the bottom third. It would be interesting to try again with some different focal lengths and DOF, --and ensuring the EV and the white balance bring out the rich grain and color of the guitar. My two cents! Keep it up.

There seems rather a lot of blurred as opposed to focused areas and, as photog1107 notes, it has a very pinkish cast.

What could make it work would be if there was something of interest reflected in the back of the tuning mechanism that is in focus.

I like the composition idea quite a bit. I agree with everyone else though that the areas of bluriness seem to take over a large portion of the picture. A little bit more depth would make this picture great...

In my opinion this would have been more effective had you taken it from above... rather than below the neck... View of strings from top would have been more interesting.. just a thought.
