Default Peachy Rose, dull leaves

Hi,
Would like to hear how you think I could improve this shot. Is the amount of noise in the background "right"?

Shot with a Canon D20, 1/320s, Focal length 55mm (35mm equivalent: 88mm), ISO 800 (don't recall setting that!), f13.0

Thank you.

Yes there is a little digital noise in the background as a result be being shot at a higher ISO, but I don't think that it is enough to distract from the image. If it really bothers you, tools like PictureCode "Noise Ninja" or Nik "Dfine" would easily remove the noise from the background.

The grain from the ISO does not bother me. The background is not homogeneous, not in the same plane and therefore the upper right part is sharp-er thatn the rest. I'd blur it to match the rest. The contrast beween the petals and the leafs is good. It brings out the mild colors and tones of the rose.

BTW, Capsaicin is the active component of pepper (chilis, etc) it is irritant to human and animal tissue and induces mild pain and a hot sense of disconfort. Are you sure you want to be identified by that?
