Watering Rock

This is a photo of what we call a chicken rock. It was used to water chickens on my Great Grandmothers farm. There wasn't much light that day so to get the shutter speed i needed I used a large aperture. However, this I think brought out that little wave just on the edge of the rock because it is in focus. I didn't edit this at all. Please tell me what you think of my focus and depth of field and the distortion in the corners of the picture. Also I would like to know if I should crop it.

I really find this to be an interesting shot however... the top left hand corner is a bit distracting. Maybe crop it even tighter or differently.

One of the reasons I posted this was to see what others thought of the picture at different amounts of cropping. Here is a link to a more cropped version of the picture. I also have a couple of other versions slightly more cropped than this in the same flickr set.
