I would crop the image just to the right of the flower itself, and just below the reflection in the water. Make the flower off-center, use the darkness of the water in-between the lily pads to draw the diagonal attention to the flower. (I'd demonstrate the crop, but I don't have any editing software here at work.)

I agree that the angle is a problem - BUT a problem that can be resolved some what by cropping at an angle to 'turn' the flower around. If you used PTLens you could rotate the flower. These are all rescues & will not be as good as getting the flower to 'look at the camera' during the capture.
