Default Plant on a Dead Tree

Took this photo with an old 35mm Canon then scanned it with a high res copier. At first I didn't like how grainy it was, but as I look at it more, I think the grain actually doesn't look bad. I also like the thin area of focus, but I also play around with unfocused things a lot (some might say too much!) Any thoughts would be appreciated!

First, I'm not a professional photographer so don't take my opinion seriously I was attracted to this photo and decided to share my impression.
I would prefer your photo as it is but without plant. The plant is too grainy, edges of the plant seem to merge in the background and part of tree is extremely clear. Two of that together is confusing. What to pay attention at?

I think I would like this if it was closer.
