I would say not bad for a beginner! What lens did you use? Was it a macro, or was this the closest focusing distance on your wide angle?

That's compliment for me! Unfortunately I don't have macro lens and that is answer to your question.

There is a reason that nobody is replying. Please read the rules for this forum section, and stick to them. You'll notice how people will be more eager to respond when you do.

Thank you for reply Sybren!
I'm new on this site and in photography ...this is the first photo I've ever posted.
I understand from the rules for this forum section that I didn't ask specific questions. I wanted people to tell me their opinion on technical level, but because of my lack of knowledge in that area (for now everything is to complex for me) I didn't dare to ask specifically. I hoped that someone would mention composition, DOF, lightening or else, so my learning would be much easier then since applied on my own picture.
I also ask opinions on emotional level. Is this picture make you feel anything or not? Is it worth keeping it?
I hope I corrected mistake I've made.

Then I suggest you stop feeling like a newbie and just ask! If you want to know a thousand things, ask a thousand questions. But please do put the more important ones at the top ;-)

I like the snail and its precarious position. It actually made me laugh! So that makes it a good photo, technique be damned.

To improve the shot, I would have picked a slightly different angle, so that you don't get the blown out sky in the background. By placing more of those dark leaves behind the snail it'll stand out more.

Now, when you said so I understand that it would have been much better to do like you would did ...

I'm going to look for that snail again and take photo from different angle

I really like the angle of the snail. For this kind of shot I think it is perfect.
Nothing about the photo draws my attention away from the snail.
I am so in love with macro so I really like the way one can see every little detail of the snail.
But....I feel the lighting is a bit bland. It makes me feel cold and wet.

It is relief that someone actually like the angle, thanks for that I can see your point for lightening.
