Hey ppl,
Just wanted your opinion on this pic which i shot. It would be nice if you all could gimme some constructive advice and critique on this pic (and others in the set if u feel like )I am a novice and have just a few days ago started off. So technique wise i would like to learn as much as i can from all you pros out there. Looking forward to your help and advice. Shaishav PS. Exif data for the pic is there on flickr. I really wouldn't consider this a macro shot. To me, a macro shot would just show a few of the black ants walking on one of two flowers.
This shot does't do much for me. Looks more like a test shot than something deliberate. Did you choose the exposure settings or did the camera choose? It looks like there was good light so the ISO 1000 setting is baffling. ISO 100 or ISO 200 would be a better choice. And a lower f/stop value (larger aperture opening) would have helped to keep the shutter speed up. Did you use a tripod? 1/13 seconds is pretty slow but the image appears to be pretty sharp with no camera shake that I can see. Have you read through Digital Photography Tips For Beginners yet? Lots of good information for someone just starting out in photography. At least read "The Basics Of Exposure". |

the pic was not taken on a tripod. Its a hand held shot As for getting closer, i was at the end of the lens capabilities. The iso setting was my screwup point noted. Would go through the article. Thanks for the critique. wiresurfer |
