Default Unexpected visitor BnW

Had this surprise visitor at our home one morning who obliged to pose for a couple of shots before flitting away back through the window...
Would like to know if the I got the composition right on this one?? How would rate the photo overall?? Would love to hear your thoughts...

This insect is really amazing.....you should have got more closer....awesome shot.....post the colored version too. And the EXIF data also ,please.

Great shot. But i agree... you should have got in a lot more closer. The insect kind of get lost in the image. I had to stare for a while before figuring out that the dragonfly was in the centre. But a great shot nevertheless

I like this!

It's a shame you can't see his wings more clearly. You have so much brightness so I feel like you could of ramped up the shutter speed to get more clear wings.
I like the overall composition. It's an interesting background to the subject of your insect.

Guys, thank you for your time and the compliments

That was the closest my cam would allow me to focus from. As the background got washed out, I thought it would lend the pic a nice contrast with window grill in BnW....but in color u can see more detail. Let me know which pic is better

Wink Color is better

In this case, the color works best to me, because the definition of the body is given more depth. I would be tempted to add a little saturation to the green in his eye in post... just to give it a little more visual interest and depth, as his eye is nice and sharp. I think overall it's a great shot for the settings you used, and understand you probably didn't have much choice on the 1/80 though a 1/250 or higher would have been great. Nice job, "on the fly."
