Caught this fellow wrapping up a future meal. Was wondering about the overall look. Is the background ok? Colours look good?

I should know better than to look at a thread with the title "Spider" ~shudder~

Interesting subject. I like how you got the little hairs on his legs. I have this same lens and it is sometimes difficult to get everything in focus with that shallow dof it offers. Having some parts in focus and not others is ok, but sometimes having the foreground oof is distracting. It makes it hard to distiguish between him and his meal. It might have been interesting to see some of his web, too. It looks like you took this around noon. The bright sun can wipe out details.

If you get a chance with this fellow and his web again, try spraying the web lightly with water (helps the web stand out) and/or shoot earlier in the day when light is less severe.

Kudos for getting close to the spider though!
