Default Not for the squeamish

Hi there, not sure if this is in the right place for this. I think its more close-up than macro. Still:
Not for the squeamish
I have a couple of questions. Hows the composition? I wasn't sure placing it so far to the side. And secondly, this was from a Raw file, and i'm not sure if the colour balance is right. Is the skin tone too red?

Cheers for your opinions.

Edit: D'oh! Forgot Exif information. Here it is:

Taken with Fujifilm s20 Pro
Exposure: 0.036 sec (1/28)
Aperture: f/11.0
Focal Length: 7.8 mm
ISO Speed: 200

In a sense, I think you answered your own questions. Since the eye is the most interesting part of the image, it shouldn't look as if it is sliding off to the left. This might even be interesting photographed from a slightly different angle, maybe even profile. This would keep the finger from covering too much of the eye.

And yes, it does look a little as if someone has a sunburn. Do you have WB adjustment on your editing program?

The shot is nice & clear, Compostition, I would suggest lowering the finger a little so its below the eye ,crop in on the eye & lens only. Your eye is out the frame a little on the left that needs bringing in,
The colour seems good to me a touch less on the red but not a problem. The main focus is the eye & lens which is focused clearly, I would also straighten up the eye a bit to have it horizontal in the pic. Well done in my opinion !

I think the skin tone is a little red, but I love the comp. The red veins in the eye, jump out at me. I looks great.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I'm going to go back to the raw file and try and reduce the red down. I might try it again with a tighter composition.
