I'm currently doing a 4 week Photography course. The assignment for this week is Depth of Field, so I took several photos of this flower in my front garden at different apertures using a Nikkor AF 50mm f1.8 lens to demonstrate DoF in action. My camera (a Nikon D5000) doesn't have an in-body autofocus motor and neither does the lens, so I had to focus the lens manually.
Post processing done on this photo in Lightroom: - White Balance (Sunlight) - Auto Tone. I think this one is the best of them all (I'll post the other ones later if anyone requests them): ![]() Pretty Flower - Exif Data |

First of all, let me say that the DOF in this picture is incredible! Beautiful bokeh! As far as composition goes, I think it would be better to crop it so that the flower is not right smack in the middle, and also there is a bit of orange flower in the bottom left corner that takes some of the glory away from your main subject. Hope this helps!
