This was a first photo with my P&S camera. I think it's a beautiful shot, yet I am new to this. I made minor edits, yet did not crop. Unfortunately, this is how it was taken. What further edits do you suggest for enhancing color, composition, etc.

Getting any picture at all of a dragonfly is a success. They are not always cooperative in where they land, nor do they stay still very long to allow for trying different compositions. Congratulations on having a quick eye and being in the right place at the right time.
Having said that, it is unfortunate the background is so busy. It dilutes the impact of the insect and makes the wings almost invisible. |

i also agree, insects of any kind can be a challenge to get that perfect shot...i personally like the background and camouflaged wings..the only thing that is to bad is that the wings are cut off...i always try to take a series of shot and usually one is perfect ...shot is a little dark but i think a full flash would have washed it out.
