Please tell me what is it about this shot that is wrong

Without seeing your exif data it will be difficult to assess your photograph. As a general overview. Your photograph doesn't qualify as a macro. It would be a closeup. The main problem is the field of view contains disturbing unfocused plants in the fore ground. Secondly most of the bee is out of focus. Macros are 1:1 or larger.

There are a lot of out of focus flowers. They really distract from the main subject, which is also rather small, and partly similar in color to the flowers so it doesn't "pop" out of the photo. The critical focus looks to me as if it might actually be in front of the bee. A butterfly would have probably worked better.
