Well 1st off you didn't ask for specific critique, so I'll just start by saying I like the perspective, the colors and the composition.
2nd, I think your depty of field is a littls shallow, but not bad. Would have liked to see more of the flower in focus. looks like your focal point was on the stem. The last thing i'd mention is to look at your final presentation and check for artifacts and things that could be cleaned up to make a better presentation, for example on the green stem just right and above the center of the picture is a White spot against the green, you could clone that out also on the stem, there is a black line, that could be removed as well. I always try to remove anything that might be distracting. Just a suggestion. Thanks for sharing this Michel.

Hi Michael,
Thank you for responding - I knew that I would forget to include something in my post, but your feedback was just what I was looking for. ![]() I'm afraid the depth of field is not going to get any deeper as I was at the limit of my lens - however, saying that I personally think it is a little too deep and would prefer a little less of the flower in focus - but then I just like to be awkward... Thank you for pointing out the artifacts and the black line - I had notice some of them but not the black line. As I prefer to get the image right in the camera rather than relying on PP (left over from when I used to shot on mainly slide film - though it good to have a backup plan!) so will try to be a little more vigilant in future. Thanks again, Lisa Last edited by Stargazergirl; 08-31-2009 at 11:57 AM. |
