Could you please give some information on the camera, lens and settings used. How large is the original figure (is this really macro or just a close-up)?

Wulf

ps. we ask that pictures are posted in more than one section within 24 hours, so I've removed the other copy of this.

Good capture of the Krishna idol there Anil. Was this one of the "for sale" items? There seems to be a price tag visible. With all those Ganeshas in the background it looks really busy especially since there isn't much of a colour difference between the subject and the background. Maybe you should think of adding a PP blur around the Krishna idol, just to emphasize the foreground a little more.

As wulf also pointed out, a sense of scale is missing as there is no reference to guage the size of the idol itself. I know you probably can't go there again for this shot, so maybe next time you can think of including something that helps the viewer to guess what size the subject is. Of course, this won't apply to real macros or extreme close-ups, but this isn't in that category.

hmm.. for me.. I don't think that the background is disturbing.. its just that the bright colors in the background are distracting me from the subject..

Also the subject is dead center.. try to crop it tighter with the subject slightly to the left..

Try to fill the whole picture with the subject.. that way.. it the picture would also showcase additional detail from the statue..
