Default Dragonfly

Canon PowerShot SD790 IS
Macro setting (1/160, f2.8)
More in set.
I took this a little bit ago while visiting the in laws and wondered if anyone had any suggestions. Sadly my SLR was busted at the time so I just had my P&S, or maybe it isn't too sad since I don't have a macro lens yet for my SLR. Any opinions on focus point or DOF. I didn't have a lot of control over either but I am still curious. Any thoughts on composition, I think I may have cropped this one down a bit. I could see if I could find the original if anyone is interested. This guy just sat there for a whole series of photos, about 4" away from the lens.

Very nice! Love the fact that the dragonfly's color matches the plant. I think it works well here in this situation, good depth of field and a non distracting background also place emphasis on the dragon fly.

I honestly don't think I would change a thing given the equipment you were working with.

i think it looks great!! I have been trying to pin one of them down for ages........and ours are not that pretty color.

I think i'll have to start packing my p/s with me on walks because i do recall loving some of the macro shots it gave me and I don't have a macro lens for my dslr either yet.

Thanks both of you. This dragonfly and another actually sat still for me for minutes at a time with my lens just inches away, it was very odd. A grasshopper did the same thing.
