Default Spider & his web

Spider&web

I'm not usually looking too closely at spiders but I just bought a new Macro lens and I couldnt resist this one. Honest feedback appreciated.
Camera: Pentax K200D
Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/1600)
Aperture: f/2.8
Focal Length: 100 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Off

You certainly seem to be enjoying your new macro lens. You haven't given much information on what camera / lens you are using and also when asking for critique it is good to include the EXIF info for the photo in question.

I would like a closer crop showing just the spider. As it is, there is too much wastage on the sides and top, which doesn't do anything for the photo. I don't think you can do this now, but if you attempt a similar shot later when you get the opportunity you might consider getting directly in front of the spider showing its entire body with the legs in the frame. The skewed angle here does not reveal much detail.
