Question Ladybug..

HI,
This is my first post in this forum. Although i've gone through the rules a couple of times apologies in advance if I've broken any in this post.

The following pic was my first attempt at macro photography and was taken in the valley of flowers. The ladybug was the point of focus but the fly made a guest appearance. Kept this snap just to see if an out of focus secondary insect enhances or degrades the pic quality.

Camera: Cannon SX10IS
1/200 sec, F/4

Please give your comments on how I could have made it better..

Edited: Oh - it worked after a reload - sorry about that.

If the ladybug is the focus - perhaps a bit tighter crop to make it more promenant would work? Right now the image is a bit spacious.

I like it much better cropped. Nice DOF. Ideally I would NOT want the fly, but they are little pests, aren't they? lol. This is a really good shot., you should be proud.

I liked the spacious; it almost looked like the flower was a staircase...i'd probably try to clone out that evil fly, but I have a tendency to do such things. The crop is nice, too.

I like this much better. I like how the flower creates a diagonal line. If you had taken it so the flower was horizontal it would have been much less dynamic. I also like how there is a little open space between the top of the ladybug and the petals above it. It makes it look a little like an umbrella and the green behind the ladybug really makes it stand out.

Is it possible for you to add some contrast to the flowers? The white flowers are a little hard for me to distinguish from the background.

@Cjgorman, Linda,
Glad you liked it

@ daddyoproductions,
I'm a real newbie to post processing. Any tips how you plan to remove that pesty fly. Would really appreciate it if you can guide me or point me to some article here or on the web.

@tokyotom
Letting my imagination run wild and trying stuff with contrast. Hopefully will have something for your review within this week.

Plz keep the suggestions coming.

Cheers!
Kartik
