Default Flower After the Rain

Hello, I am a newbie; still learning and seeking the advice of others. These are flowers in my flower bed. It had just stopped raining and I snapped a few pics. Is there a way to have made the flowers more crisp/stand out more? All feedback is welcome. Thanks

Info:

Camera: Fujifilm Finepix S1000fd
Shutter Speed: 1/58 sec.
Lens Aperture: F/5
ISO Speed: ISO-800
Focal Length: 71mm

Default Hello!

Newbie myself here, so take my advice with a pinch of salt! I would lower the Aperture right down, f2.8 or something like that, which will give you a blurry backround and make the flowers stand out more.

Other than that, I would try selecting the background and applying a gaussian blur, then applying a un-sharp mask. That should make them stand out a bit more.

Thats my two cents!

Default Appreciate your advice

Thx Dave_Lewis88 for your advice. I'm going to give it a shot and see how it turns out. I viewed you flickr pics. You have some cool shots, I really like Crocus Stamen, Mental and Italian Windows. I've used tiltshitmaker before, neat huh? Thx again.

I would lower the ISO because it make the picture noisy and it would be nice to see it a bit sharper.

Just beware, though, that lowering your ISO will also lower your exposure time, so hopefully you're using a tripod on this.
