Smile Wedding Rings

Rings

Not technically a macro shot. Just practicing close-ups. Should I have a greater dof so both the rings are totally in focus? Also, suggestions about how to get more sparkle on the diamond?

Camera: Canon Digital Rebel Xti
ISO: 100
Exposure: 1/60
Aperture: 5.6
Focal Length: 55mm

Lighting: 1 "ghetto" mainlight to left
1 reflector card to the right

Have at it! Critique away!

Default A quick suggestion

Just one quick suggestion which may or may not work, but it's worth a try:

Increase your exposure bias.

It's worth a try.

Also you should try to get both in focus, in my opinion.

Use a smaller aperture to get all of both of the rings in focus. For the diamond to sparkle I suggest moving either the ring around so the the light is reflecting off the diamond into the lens or moving the light around to do the same. I think that the photo could use something else in it. Maybe a flower from the wedding or one of the invitations. Just an opinion though.

Increase Exposure Compensation for brighter pic
For Sparkle use a household white (or yellow) flash light (torch light) and point its beam on diamond and take the pic from where u see sparkle..
This can be done from img editing s/w or with star filters
Add a contrasint color like red rose bud or velvet cloth as part of the pic..

good luck trying ... do post if u tried any suggestions
