Hi Hess, overall look and composition of this image is good in my opinion. It has nice color and even lighting. The focus is obviously set to the beard of the flower and that works fine. The only thing I would have tried to improve the image would have been to go with a slightly larger depth of field to get the top back portion of the flower in sharper focus but I do like the shot.

Good attempt, centre in focus.
A few pointers, take care when shooting outdoor flowers, take a second look through the viewer. Notice the grass behind and over the petal (front l/h side). This can be easily taken care of before the shot by moving or removing. The small white spot can be cloned out also any other blemishes creating a cleaner shot.
