leonaashlee, Welcome
That's quite a lovely bloom. While the color is a little overlit, it's not gone, so a little post work would help. If you'll look into your camera's Exposure Compensation section in the manual, you can use it to bring the exposure down in increments, so that even in full Sun you can keep good color and shadow/light balance. You could also have gone to f/8, f/11, or f/16 to achieve this. Or up to a SS of 1/250sec. or 1/500sec. or more. Even a gauze sunshade would work. Three ways you can limit the amount and duration of that Sun hitting your subject. Try some new settings, find an old see-through curtain, stretch it over a dollar-store hulahoop. See how many different shots you come up with, and remember the one that works best!

Thanks, I took it in San Diego as there are certainly none of these around Tucson, but I have two more trips there coming up this summer so I'll have more chances to try those ideas. Appreciate the feedback.
