Default Cherry

Hi guys, I caught last year's dessicated cherry when shooting blossoms a few weeks back .. I had a friend help me with my cropping, and wanted to share, asking you for overall critique especially on composition ..thx

small size cherry

ISO @ 80
zero step on exposure comp
shutter went at 1/250th

I am assuming from the title that the subject is the cherry. Actually, I would have guessed that without the title too, since the blossoms are either out of focus or not wholly visible. But I questioned it because to me, a macro shot would fill the frame much more. I like the cherry with the lighting and the detail, I just think it should have been zeroed in on much tighter. All the other things are distracting and even a bit confusing (the branch makes me feel like I am looking at it upside down or something.)

I like it. To me there was no question about the subject and since when does a cherry hang upside down? I also disagree with the "macro rules"......I believe a macro lens can be used however you want. Nice shot!

[We critique images, not lenses, so we do accept close-ups. Since Macro is a specialty technique, usually requiring special equipment, this section would have fewer posts if we insisted on 1:1 or better.]
