Default Frosted flow

This is a close-up I took near a frozen stream. I liked the feel of the glass bubbles trapped in the ice and took a couple more shots as well (Flickr Link)

DSC_0222

I'd like to increase the 'wow' factor in this photograph, to take it from a good photo (my perception) to a spectacular one. All suggestions, criticisms, comments are welcome to help me make such shots better.

Exif Info:
Camera: Nikon D40
Exposure: 0.013 sec (1/80)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 30 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Bias: -2/3 EV
ISO Speed: 200

Thanks,
Sarit

I like the form and the sharpness of your ice bubbles, and the contrast of the ice with the warm-toned rocks. I would suggest a square crop, losing some of the oof areas, which I think may take a little too much space here. The in focus bit on the left looks a bit like the profile of a face looking out of the shot. I like this image, you did well to spot it!

Thanks for your comments Annette... You are right there - quite a large portion of the original photo is out-of-focus...
I was hoping to capture the twists of the stream in the background.. Do you think a larger f-stop would have helped, to get some more DOF?

I enjoy this photo. I also enjoy how only a certain part of the area is in focus. It brings attraction to that one spot, which, I hope that was your point in the photo.
