Default The weed that lived for another day...

This is my first post to this site. I've been an avid reader/snooper for a while and don't know why I haven't posted before this. Here is an image that I think turned out quite well. But I also realize that one can always improve on their photography, so I invite all to critique away! I enjoy taking plant photography and I tried to compose this shot in the proper way and give it a nice bokeh in the background.

EXIF Data:
Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi
Exposure: 0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture: f/4.5
Focal Length: 35 mm
ISO Speed: 200

Default Great colors

I like the position of the weed. It attracted my eyes immediately.
The weed itself is quite interesting and the green background makes it stand out.
critique? well, I guess that placing the weed just a little bit more outside the frame would make it even better. It seems like you wanted to frame the whole thing, leaving nothing to imagination.

Yeah, I always tweak my photos in Photoshop. I can't really tell you what I did, not cuz I'm secretive, I just do different things for each image. I can tell you that I don't do too much. I try to leave the image pretty close to the original if possible...

Very nice shot. Maybe a bit closer next time. But great capture!
