Default newbee 1st

New(ish) to this forum and I'm trying out a rented 60mm macro to see if I "need" to buy one. I know the subject isn't original, but I'd love feedback for improvement.

I think the framing cutting off a good portion of the subject might not be the best. Otherwise, it's fine. I think the brightness of the green is a little distracting.

that's interesting, because I really like the brightness of the green, the colour is my favourite part of the shot. I have no critique on the macro'ness of the shot though, don't know anything about it sorry

I, too, like the green - the colors all go so nicely together. I'd like to see a smidge greater dof, however. Lovely shot!

Thank you all for the comments. The original green (totally out of focus grass) was a bit darker. I wasn't sure about how well this brighter green worked. And as for the dof, I too wish there was a bit more. As I said, I'm a total newbee when it comes to Macro. I was struggling with getting enough speed for a steady shot, so the dof suffered. Though I understand that unless you're using a tripod (and the wind isn't blowing), the dof will be shallow anyway. I purposely moved it off-center for a more dynamic composition. I have others that are more centered. I might post one tomorrow as a comparison.
Thank you all for the opportunity to share and get feedback.
