Default Newbie Orchid Flower

Hi everybody..I am new to DPS..Just joined in today and since beginning of my learning into photogrpahy I really Love this website very very much.
Attached my 1st Macro Photos and appreciate Comments & Critiques for my improvement .

Sorry have forgotten what exposure setting I have used on this shot..no Post Processing involve, taken straight thro my kit lens 18mm-55mm Canon EOS 450D. Thank you.

Pg Md Adam, Welcome

Very nice small bloom; perhaps a little better focus is possible for the central subject. Color and saturation are good, though. I would take a look at cropping the left side and some top and bottom to maintain approximate aspect ratio.

There's a lot of distracting blurred background that could just as well not be there. A crop can leave just enough to show there are more blooms, but fewer so there's less distraction. Well done overall.

I second the cropping idea.
