Post Freezing Water

So a friend sent me these pictures from a site that posted photos of water droplets that captured the planets, and I became enthralled. I attempted to take some myself. I had a black bowl, a large white board propped up behind, and my speedlite off to the left pointed at the board. Here is one of the few good ones I captured:

Planet Droplet

I need critiques however, because I quickly became familiar with the challenges of photographing water droplets like this. First, this is the only angle I could make work, but would it be more interesting if the camera was lower and more perpendicular to the subject; a fully straight on view if you will.

Also, I used a 70-200mm lens. Would something wider and closer be better?

Do you like the crop with the drop in the center or would following the rule of thirds make the photograph more appealing.

Basically, I want to make the water droplet as interesting as I can now that I have at least a basic grasp on the technique and mechanics. What would you change to make it catchier? Any and all feedback helps. Next time I set up and try it I would love some ideas laid out in front of me.
