Tree branchs formation-Critique

I took this while hiking on Purisima trail....

critique points:
1>Should tree location be changed(on frame)?
2>Is angle of picture(straight upwards) OK or should it have been taken from a different angle?
3>should i avoid the near branch (out of focus) in this type of shot?
4>last question (a silly one), i used 55-250 mm lens for this picture, is my choice correct??
5> adding one, is DOF ok?
