Default My first Bokeh Shot

I was reading a few tips about bokeh shots, and it was christmas. .so took my camera and shot this little stuffed bear bokeh..it was a practice shot though, i'm a newbie so yeah.. Soften the image a bit with Corel.

Nikon D3100 Kit Lens
f 5.6
Shutter speed 1/10 sec
ISO 400
focal Length 55mm

I just want to know some comments about the picture, what to do to improve it, what to tweak with the settings, or if something is too much....i like taking bokeh shots so i want to know what you think

Nice bokeh ;D.. What is the connection between the bear and the bokeh.. If you can connect them then it will become great.. For example, bokeh & a cup has strong connection...

Or u simply can try to eat those bokeh... hahaa..

Or you can blow those bokeh like bubble..
use ur imagation..
connect 2 things together , tightly

I like the bokeh, but it looks like the bear may be a little out of focus. Might be to shallow of DOF.

The bokeh is really nice but the bear's out of focus. At that shutter speed the camera should have been firmly supported, a small beanbag would be good for the low angle & you'd need to use the camera's timer rather than press the shutter yourself. The bear's also not very well lit. For pictures like this I've been using an LED torch with a piece of translucent plastic (from a supermarket carrier bag) held on with an elastic band as a diffuser to soften the light.
