I have been reading about elements of a photograph that guide the eye so to speak. While doing my idea for the color blue assignment, I realized I could practice both line of sight and brightness gradients.

I tried to position the light so that your eye is drawn to the stormtrooper in the center of the shot (the brightest part). He's looking at at the DirecTV box as if it were a console. Following where he's turned to look, you see the buttons and the reflection. The reflection itself seems to look at something so you follow it to the corner to find Darth Vader "walking" away from the scene.

So I have three areas I'd like critique on:

1. Are the lines of sight effective or inconsequential?

2. Is the brightness effective?

3. I tried to compose everything in the shot with no post processing. What would you have done differently, either in composition or in post-processing?

Aperture: f/9.0
Focal Length: 55 mm
ISO Speed : 400
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
No Flash

Well the first thing that happened to me was my eyes followed the circles out of the photo to the left since the dominant storm trooper is also looking that way ...

Son of a gun... as soon as I read it, it hit me like a ton of bricks!!! I was so focused on the reflection I didn't notice. Ooops.
