Default Candlelight Critique

Please let me know how you all feel about my lighting and composition. I love this picture! We had a posada which is like a christmas caroling around the neighborhood, but in the portrayal of the Nativity Story.

2 things
the light int he background takes away from the main subject
I'd like to see more of the words to get a feel for what this photo is saying in its story!
Like the lighting and the whole ambiance of the image!

I agree about the light in the background - can you clone it out? Otherwise it's a very nice picture ...
