Default Carnations

I was playing around with some carnations this morning with my 50mm lens. This one I sprayed with a water bottle to get drops. I also cropped the final image.

I don't like the background, I think it's distracting. I also don't like the composition. I would like some other critique on it. Color, composition, any other thoughts and opinions.

Thanks!

I think you're on to something here- I love these carnations, they're really pretty, and I think the droplets are a beautiful touch. I think, however, that if you took them outside, preferably on a cloudy day when the light isn't too strong, that they would be in a much more flattering light. You could even place them by a window for natural light- just anything to avoid using on camera flash. Oh, and watch your background, too. Hope this helps

Lolkat,

Thank you for the kind words. That's a great idea. Take them outside on my deck! Originally I had them by the window, but didn't like the look. I absolutely hate the background on this, I think it's distracting.

Again, Thanks for the critique!

Default Your Carnations

I also think you have flooded the shot with too much Carnations. There is little to focus on because the shot is so busy and you filled the frame with the flowers. Perhaps getting the carnations in a corner or on the side might help..... Again, just my opinion

Your right. I did. However, you've given me a good idea to go back and try next.

Thank you
