Default On a branch

I was walking through the woods when I saw this branch with some sort of flower (?) growing from it. It was a difficult shot to get as the wind was blowing the branch in all directions and even when I thought it had stopped for a moment, when I pressed the shutter, it started up again. After a number of shots which were immediately discarded, I got this one. The RAW file was slightly edited - sharpness and contrast - and cropped. I suppose the cropping is the main item for discussion, but comments on all other aspects and the photo as a whole are of course sought and encouraged.

Aperture: f/6.3
Focal length: 55 mm
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/40 sec
Camera; Nikon D3100

I like the framing of this, laying the branch along the bottom of the photo and letting it rise at the edge to fill in the space on the right...it actually solves an issue I have been having with a vine in my pasture I want to photograph!

Thank you.

very nice photo, and very difficult to get

Excellent capture in tricky conditions. The one thing I will draw to your attention is that you carried out a bit of a careless crop, having sliced one of the buds in half! also something in the blurry background to the left of the shot is distracting my attention. Remedy these and you have a wonderful shot.
