Post My Wood Man

Hey DPSers,

I've been reading a LOT on ambient and natural light, and also using manual mode to have full control over my exposures. I took this frame using my wood man and natural, cloudy day window light. This is what I settled on to be my favorite and wondered if it is visually pleasing to others? How is the composition? I added the house plant for a reference to DoF. Also, how is the direction and strength of the light source? Would a more feathered lighting approach be better? (It is easier on the eye if placed on a grey background)

Plus, any or all other critiques would be helpful; I was just distracted by lighting.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Hello.

I like the composition. The plant is OK as a background, it's not distracting. And if you removed it, the photo would be a bit to stiff in my opinion. I like the lighting. I would add some reflector right from the picture frame (even just a piece of white cardboard) to make the shadows on the figurine a bit softer. All together it's a nice shot as it is.
