I am pretty much new at this. I wanted to capture what looks like fireworks coming out of the center of the flowers, but I don't think I achieved that. I need to improve the lighting as well. Any ideas greatly appreciated. I also have a photo album on here. Comments appreciated there as well.

Hello yellow flower picture taker!
I agree that you didn't quite capture what I think you were trying to capture. I think one of the issues are that you have too much within the frame to really "capture" the firework display in the center of the flower. Maybe taking the photo closer to the subject and creating a shallowerer depth of field would really 1) capture the explosive things, and 2) blur out the distracting pedals and explosive things from the other flower/flowers. Also, you can control the 'warmth' of the colors by messing with your white balance. I think since the flowers were yellow and the background was blue, it would have been advantageous to bring out the warm colors to bleed out the blues. Auto WB tends to try to bring everything into balance, and a lot of times you want to bring balance to the subject, but not necissarily the background. I hope I am conveying correctly what I am trying to say. Anways, hope this helps and give me feedback on my feedback! I'm new at this critiquing stuff ![]() ~ Adam |

Thank you Adam!
I understand what you are saying. I will try messing around with my cs5 and see if I can work with it. If not, practice makes perfect so they say! Your critique was helpful. Thanks again! Sue |
