Hello and thanks for taking the time to post. You may get a better response if you ask specific questions other than the "tell me what you think". Let us know what you were trying to accomplish etc.
I don't do macro, but I will comment on a couple of general things: 1. I do like what I think you were trying to capture 2. That interior framing is distracting to me, maybe if you crop to that size. 3. I do like the shadow encroaching from the bottom right 4. Is the ring to centered? 5. The light sparkle on the ring is too bright and takes away from the overall calmness the rest of the image is presenting to me. If it was throwing off a muted prism of color I think that would be more appealing? That is all I have for now. The real macro folks and provide other input. Keep shooting!

You could try placing the ring off centre? Maybe rule of thirds?
Rest looks great to me. Love how the dark border brings the attention onto the ring and also love the sparkle on the ring. |
