I'm pretty happy with the pov on this flower, it's different but still beautiful imo. My question on it are, what causes the white lines on the outside of the diagonal petals (is this blow out from the sun?), is it a bit soft? Would vignetting add anything to this, I gave it a whirl but didn't really like the outcomes perhaps I was doing it wrong? Anything else? Thanks all!

Get closer, closer and when you think you're close enough, get closer.
This flower has a lot of wonderful detail in it but it's lost with all the sky stealin the show. You certainly have the right idea, think outside the box! and yes, the white lines are caused from the sun, try shooting in the early morning or late evening when the sunlight is softer

![]() It looks just a little soft to me. You could try sharpening it a bit, that would take care of the softness. I might try cropping some of the sky out, so that the flower is up closer. And I really think a little vignette would look nice. But just a little, not a whole lot. Is this what you were wanting the vignette to look like? Not too much, not too little. Is this kind of what you were wanting the vignette to look like? I also cropped it in and sharpened it a little. What do you think? If you don't like it, I'll delete it. ![]()

Definately right about the closer crop, what huge improvement! I do really like the edit TNH, could you run me through what you did for the vignette and color boost? Thanks for the replies!

After I uploaded the picture, I clicked on the 'Edit' tab. Well, first I cropped it in, but you know how to do that. Then I clicked on the 'Sharpness' button, and turned up the sharpness up to number 5. Then, I clicked on 'Exposure', and turned up the contrast to number 1. Then I clicked on the 'Create' tab. Clicked on the Vignette effect, and turned the Size up to 41, and the Strength to 14%. And that was all I did.
