What do you think about this macro? how to improve

As per outlined in the guidelines, be sure to ask something specific you want help with

Nina,
Technically it's not a macro as the magnification is not 1:1. More here:
Macro Camera Lenses

Coming to other aspects, I don't see a focal point/plane and I see some camera shake as well and if I am not wrong, the photo was cropped to quite an extent. Ideally, I'd have loved to see the focus on the eyes and hope for more details. You could stop down to f8 and give it a shot again.
