Default Antique looking jewelry

This is my first attempt at macro with my Nikon Coolpix L120. Took quite a few pics, but decided it looked better in black and white.

Your choice to make it B&W is great. However, the subject is a tad out of focus. But, great pic, otherwise.

So I actually did something right? Lol I spent an hour taking pictures of the necklace cause I kept getting a blur. I was in a confined space and didnt have room for my tri-pod. Had to settle for resting my camera on top of a soda can facing downwards. Ty for the compliment.

Is it B&W? Looks a bit sepia to me. I'm also new to macro (& this site) & hope to learn a bit more. I took loads of macro setting pictures of flowers in my garden; thinking that it was easily available beauty.
I think the two things I've learned so far are:
-DoF, DoF, DoF.
-A high proportion of successful macro pictures are stage managed down to the Nth detail.

You're in a good position to re-take your jewellery with new lighting though? Flowers fade too quick for re-takes darn it. I wish this site had a critical thread that was somewhere between happy snappers & photographic Data geeks?

Windrider I included the information asked for when I posted the picture. Shruggy yes its in black and white. Its kind of hard to tell cause of the back ground. It's just a cheap piece of jewlery that I bought at xmas cause it has an old timey feel to it.

I came across a Photoshop filters plug-in called Silver Efex Pro that you might like. It's a nice b/w converter with plenty of classic styles. You'll have to hunt it down yourself though because I may or may not have got it in a naughty way
